5-Minute Fudge

Servings: 16 squares
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups white sugar
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
    For creaminess and richness.
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
    Adds a smooth, creamy texture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    Balances the sweetness.
  • 1 (6-ounce) package milk chocolate chips
Feel free to use dark chocolate for a richer flavor.
  • 16 large marshmallows
These help create the smooth fudge consistency.
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Adds a hint of flavor depth.
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Walnuts, pecans, or almonds work well.

Directions

  1. Prepare the Pan
  • Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Set aside.
  1. Combine the Base Ingredients
  • In a medium-sized saucepan, add the sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt. Stir to combine.
  1. Bring to a Boil
  • Set the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Once the mixture reaches a boil, cook for exactly 5 minutes, continuing to stir constantly to prevent sticking.
  1. Add the Chocolate Chips
  • After 5 minutes, add the chocolate chips to the saucepan and stir until fully melted and smooth.
  1. Incorporate Marshmallows and Vanilla
  • Remove the pan from heat. Quickly stir in the marshmallows, vanilla extract, and chopped nuts (if using). Mix until the marshmallows are fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  1. Pour and Set
  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared 8-inch pan, smoothing out the top with a spatula if needed.
  1. Cool and Cut
  • Let the fudge cool at room temperature until set, then cut into squares. You can also refrigerate it to set faster.

Tips for Success

  • Avoid Overcooking: Keeping a close eye on the time will help prevent the sugar from crystallizing, ensuring smooth fudge.
  • Customize It: Try mixing in mini chocolate chips, toffee bits, or dried fruit for a fun twist.
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or refrigerate for extended freshness.

Enjoy your delightful, quick, and creamy 5-Minute Fudge!
