Blueberry Pie Bombs (Air Fryer Recipe)

These delicious Blueberry Pie Bombs are an easy and fun dessert or snack that come together quickly using biscuit dough and a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8-count) Pillsbury Grand Biscuits
  • 1 cup (262 g) blueberry pie filling
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) butter, melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for sprinkling or coating)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Biscuits:
    • Open the can of Pillsbury Grand biscuits and separate the 8 biscuits.
    • Use your hands or a rolling pin to flatten each biscuit into a round disc, approximately 4-5 inches in diameter.
  2. Add the Filling:
    • Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of blueberry pie filling into the center of each flattened biscuit. Be careful not to overfill to prevent leaks during cooking.
  3. Seal the Bombs:
    • Gently bring the edges of the biscuit dough up and over the filling, pinching the seams tightly to seal.
    • Roll the sealed biscuit lightly in your hands to form a smooth ball, ensuring there are no openings.
  4. Prepare the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes.
    • Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  5. Brush with Butter:
    • Place the prepared dough balls seam-side down in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each for expansion.
    • Brush each dough ball generously with melted butter.
  6. Sprinkle with Sugar:
    • Sprinkle the tops of the buttered bombs with granulated sugar.
  7. Cook the Bombs:
    • Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until the bombs are golden brown and cooked through.
    • Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook them in batches.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the bombs to cool for 2-3 minutes before handling, as the filling will be hot.
    • Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with icing for extra sweetness.

Optional Variations:

  • Add a Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with milk or cream and drizzle over the bombs after cooling slightly.
  • Cinnamon Sugar Coating: After brushing with butter, roll the bombs in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar instead of plain sugar.
  • Other Fillings: Swap blueberry pie filling for apple, cherry, or peach pie filling for a different flavor.

Storage and Reheating Tips:

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer at 325°F (160°C) for 2-3 minutes for a fresh-out-of-the-oven taste.

These Blueberry Pie Bombs are perfect for a quick treat, party dessert, or even breakfast with a cup of coffee!
