- For the Steak Fries:
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak Fries:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and cut the russet potatoes into thick wedges.
- In a large bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
- Optional: Garnish with chopped parsley.
- Cook the Shaved Steak:
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the thinly sliced onions and sauté until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the onions from the skillet and set them aside.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil and increase the heat to high.
- Add the shaved steak to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Return the caramelized onions to the skillet and mix them with the cooked steak.
- Assemble the Sliders:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
- Evenly distribute the steak and onion mixture over the bottom halves of the slider buns.
- Layer the provolone and mozzarella cheese slices over the steak mixture.
- Place the top halves of the slider buns on top of the cheese.
- Cover the sliders with aluminum foil to prevent the buns from drying out.
- Warm the Sliders:
- Place the assembled sliders in the preheated oven and let them warm for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve:
- Remove the sliders from the oven and let them sit for a minute before serving.
- Serve the cheesesteak sliders with the freshly baked steak fries on the side.
