Ingredients:
- 1.5 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1 can (10.5 oz) of cream of chicken soup
- 1 packet (1 oz) of chicken gravy mix
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- A few dashes of ranch seasoning mix (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crock Pot: Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker or line it with a slow cooker liner for easy cleanup.
- Add Ingredients:
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Pour the chicken broth over the chicken.
- Add the can of cream of chicken soup on top of the chicken and broth.
- Sprinkle the chicken gravy mix over the mixture.
- Season:
- Add freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- For additional flavor, add a few dashes of ranch seasoning mix if desired.
- Cook:
- Cover the crock pot with its lid.
- Set the crock pot to low heat and cook for 6 hours. The chicken will become tender and easily shredable.
- Shred the Chicken:
- After 6 hours, remove the chicken breasts from the crock pot and place them on a cutting board.
- Use two forks or a hand mixer to shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Return Chicken to Gravy:
- Return the shredded chicken to the crock pot and stir to coat the chicken with the gravy mixture.
- Serve:
- Serve the chicken and gravy over homemade mashed potatoes or your choice of sides.
