Dirt Pudding Recipe
This Dirt Pudding is a fantastic and fun dessert, perfect for occasions like Earth Day or any gathering. Here’s a detailed recipe to make it:
Ingredients
- 2 boxes of chocolate fudge pudding mix
- Note: If using regular milk, you’ll only need 1 box.
- 2 cups of unsweetened almond milk
- Alternative: 2 cups of regular milk if not using almond milk.
- 1/2 family pack of Oreo cookies
- Crush the cookies and scrape off the crème.
- 1 tub of Philadelphia cheesecake filling
- Haribo gummy worms
Instructions
- Prepare the Pudding:
- In a large mixing bowl, pour in the chocolate fudge pudding mix.
- Add 2 cups of unsweetened almond milk to the bowl. If you are using regular milk, you can use 1 box of pudding mix with 2 cups of milk.
- Mix the pudding according to the package directions until it thickens and is well combined.
- Add the Cheesecake Filling:
- Once the pudding is prepared, stir in the tub of Philadelphia cheesecake filling.
- Mix until the cheesecake filling is fully blended with the pudding, creating a creamy, smooth mixture.
- Prepare the Oreos:
- Take 1/2 a family pack of Oreo cookies and scrape off the crème filling. You can discard the crème or save it for another use.
- Place the cookies in a resealable plastic bag and crush them into small pieces using a rolling pin or by hand. Alternatively, you can pulse them in a food processor until they are finely crushed.
- Assemble the Pudding:
- Sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies evenly over the top of the pudding mixture, creating a « dirt » layer.
- Refrigerate:
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the pudding for at least 2 hours. This allows the flavors to meld and the pudding to set properly.
- Serve:
- Before serving, dish the pudding into individual bowls or a large serving bowl.
- Decorate the top with Haribo gummy worms, arranging them to look like they are crawling through the « dirt. »
Tips
- For added texture, you can layer the pudding and crushed Oreos in a trifle dish, alternating between the pudding mixture and Oreo crumbs.
- If you want to make it more festive, consider adding edible flowers or small chocolate rocks to the top for a garden-like effect.
- This recipe can easily be doubled or halved depending on the number of servings needed.
Enjoy your delicious and whimsical Dirt Pudding!
