Garlic Cheese Knots

Garlic Cheese Knots

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of refrigerated biscuits (8 biscuits)
  • 4 sticks of string cheese
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • Marinara sauce or ranch dressing for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Biscuits:
    • Open the can of refrigerated biscuits and separate the 8 biscuits.
    • Slice each biscuit in half horizontally, making 16 biscuit halves.
    • Flatten each biscuit half with your fingers or a rolling pin until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Prepare the String Cheese:
    • Cut each stick of string cheese into 3 equal pieces, resulting in 12 pieces total.
  4. Form the Knots:
    • Take a piece of string cheese and place it in the center of a flattened biscuit.
    • Wrap the biscuit dough around the cheese, ensuring that the cheese is completely enclosed.
    • Roll the dough into a smooth ball.
    • Repeat this process for all biscuit halves and string cheese pieces.
  5. Arrange in the Pan:
    • Grease a baking pan with cooking spray or a light coating of butter.
    • Place each rolled cheese-filled biscuit ball into the pan, leaving a small space between each one to allow for expansion during baking.
  6. Prepare the Garlic Butter:
    • In a small saucepan, melt the stick of butter over low heat.
    • Once melted, add the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, parsley flakes, and minced garlic.
    • Stir well to combine.
  7. Brush the Knots:
    • Using a pastry brush, generously brush the garlic butter mixture over each biscuit ball.
    • Ensure each knot is well coated with the garlic butter mixture.
  8. Bake:
    • Place the baking pan in the preheated oven.
    • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the knots are golden brown and cooked through. Check them around the 15-minute mark to avoid over-baking.
  9. Serve:
    • Remove the garlic cheese knots from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
    • Serve warm with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.

Enjoy:

  • These garlic cheese knots are a delicious and quick appetizer that will surely be a hit at any gathering!
