Everything Bagel Cream Cheese Croissants
Ingredients:
- 1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough (available at most grocery stores, including Walmart)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened (about half of a standard 8 oz block)
- Everything bagel seasoning (you can find this at most grocery stores, or make your own)
- 1 egg white (for brushing)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). - Prepare the Dough:
Open the can of crescent roll dough and carefully unroll it. You should have 8 pre-cut triangles of dough. - Add the Cream Cheese:
Take about a tablespoon of softened cream cheese and place it on the wider end of each dough triangle. If you prefer a stronger cream cheese flavor, you can add a bit more. - Roll the Dough:
Starting at the wide end, carefully roll each triangle toward the narrow end, just like rolling a croissant. Once you’ve rolled it, pinch the edges to seal the dough, so the cream cheese doesn’t escape during baking. - Shape into Balls:
After rolling, gently tuck the sides in and roll each crescent into a ball shape. This gives the croissant a fun, round appearance, perfect for grabbing and snacking. - Brush with Egg White:
In a small bowl, whisk the egg white until slightly frothy. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the top and sides of each dough ball with the egg white. This will help give the rolls a nice golden color and help the seasoning stick. - Add the Everything Bagel Seasoning:
Generously sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over each dough ball. Be sure to cover them well for that classic everything bagel flavor. - Bake:
Place the prepared croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Bake in your preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and puffed up. - Cool and Serve:
Allow the croissants to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving. Enjoy them warm as a delicious snack or breakfast treat!
Tips:
- Storage: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. You can reheat them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes to crisp them up again.
- Optional Fillings: You can also add additional fillings to the cream cheese, like chopped smoked salmon, fresh chives, or even a dollop of your favorite jam for a sweet-savory twist.
Enjoy your delicious, easy-to-make everything bagel cream cheese croissants! 😍
