Lazy Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (24 oz) jar of your favorite pasta sauce
  • 1 bag of frozen ravioli (spinach & cheese recommended, but any variety works)
  • 1 bag of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Garlic bread (optional, for serving)

Equipment

  • 9×13 inch baking dish
  • Large skillet
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cup
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the Ground Beef:
    • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef.
    • Cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon or spatula, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
    • Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  3. Prepare the Meat Sauce:
    • Pour the entire jar of pasta sauce into the skillet with the browned beef.
    • Stir to combine the sauce and beef thoroughly.
  4. Prepare the Baking Dish:
    • Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce mixture on the bottom of the 9×13 inch baking dish. This prevents the ravioli from sticking to the dish and adds extra flavor.
  5. Layer the Ingredients:
    • Place a single layer of frozen ravioli on top of the thin layer of sauce in the baking dish.
    • Spoon a layer of the meat sauce over the ravioli.
    • Sprinkle a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the meat sauce.
  6. Repeat the Layers:
    • Repeat the layering process (ravioli, meat sauce, cheese) until you have three layers or until you run out of ingredients. Ensure the final layer is topped with a generous amount of cheese.
  7. Bake the Lasagna:
    • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to prevent the cheese from burning.
    • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, until the lasagna is bubbling and heated through.
  8. Broil for a Golden Top:
    • After baking, remove the foil and switch the oven to broil on low.
    • Broil the lasagna for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese on top is golden and slightly crispy. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
  9. Serve:
    • Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before serving. This helps it set and makes it easier to cut.
    • Serve with garlic bread on the side if desired.

Enjoy your Lazy Lasagna!
