Sausage & Cheese Bites
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Bisquick mix
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ⅓ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Cook the Sausage:
- In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Use a spatula to break the sausage into small crumbles as it cooks. Once done, drain the excess fat and transfer the sausage to a plate lined with paper towels to cool.
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick mix and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well.
- Add the cooled sausage crumbles to the bowl and mix again.
- Pour in the milk and add the chopped chives. Stir until all ingredients are evenly combined and a dough forms. If the mixture is too dry, you can add a little more milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
- Form the Bites:
- Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, form the dough into 1-inch balls. Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Bake:
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the sausage bites are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a serving platter.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
