Simple, Cheap, and Easy Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 box (15.25 oz) of any flavored cake mix (e.g., chocolate, vanilla, lemon, etc.)
- 1 tub (8 oz) of whipped cream topping (such as Cool Whip, thawed if frozen)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Equipment:
- Mixing bowl
- Mixing spoon or spatula
- Cookie scoop or tablespoon
- Baking sheets
- Parchment paper or silicone baking mats
- Cooling rack
Instructions:
- Prepare Your Baking Area:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line your baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats to prevent the cookies from sticking and to make cleanup easier.
- Mix the Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the entire box of cake mix and the tub of whipped cream topping.
- Stir the mixture until well combined. The dough will be thick and slightly sticky.
- Form the Cookies:
- Place the powdered sugar in a shallow bowl.
- Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out small portions of the dough (about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter).
- Roll each portion into a ball between your palms.
- Roll each dough ball in the powdered sugar until fully coated. Shake off any excess powdered sugar.
- Bake the Cookies:
- Arrange the powdered sugar-coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops have a slightly crinkled appearance.
- Cool the Cookies:
- Remove the baking sheets from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the sheets for about 2-3 minutes.
- Carefully transfer the cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Once the cookies are completely cooled, they are ready to be enjoyed! These cookies are soft and delicious, with a slightly chewy texture.
Tips:
- For extra flavor, you can add mix-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or sprinkles to the dough before rolling it in powdered sugar.
- If you prefer a different texture, you can chill the dough for 15-20 minutes before scooping and baking. This helps the cookies hold their shape better during baking.
- Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Enjoy your simple, cheap, and easy cookies!
