Simple Peach Dump Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- Non-stick cooking spray or butter for greasing
- 2 cans (15 ounces each) of peaches in heavy syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (optional)
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted or cut into slices
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Baking Dish: Spray a small to medium-sized baking dish (about 9×13 inches) with non-stick cooking spray or grease it with butter. This will help prevent the cake from sticking to the dish.
- Add the Peaches: Open the cans of peaches and pour them into the prepared baking dish, including the syrup. Spread the peaches evenly across the bottom of the dish.
- Enhance the Flavor (Optional):
- Cinnamon: Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon over the peaches.
- Vanilla Extract: Drizzle 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract over the peaches.
- Brown Sugar: Sprinkle 1/2 cup of brown sugar evenly over the peaches. These additions are optional but will enhance the flavor of your dump cake.
- Add the Cake Mix: Open the box of yellow cake mix and evenly distribute the dry mix over the peaches. Do not stir.
- Add the Butter:
- Using Melted Butter: If you prefer to use melted butter, pour 1/2 cup of melted butter evenly over the dry cake mix.
- Using Sliced Butter: If you prefer, you can cut 1/2 cup of butter into thin slices and evenly distribute them over the dry cake mix. Ensure the butter covers as much of the surface as possible for a nice golden crust.
- Bake the Cake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cake is set. A toothpick inserted into the cake should come out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the dump cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Variations:
This recipe can also be made with other canned fruits in syrup. Try using:

Each variation will bring a different flavor profile to the cake. Enjoy experimenting with your favorite fruits!
