Ingredients:
- 2 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
- 12 ounces sour cream
- 3/4 bag (about 9 oz) frozen spinach, thawed and drained
- 1 (14 oz) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
- 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 loaf French bread, sliced (for serving)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Squeeze any excess moisture from the thawed spinach and add it to the bowl with the cream cheese mixture.
- Add the chopped artichoke hearts, 1 cup of the grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Transfer the dip mixture to a 9-inch baking dish or cast iron skillet, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the dip.
- Bake the dip in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden.
- If desired, switch the oven to broil and broil the dip for an additional 2-3 minutes to achieve a more golden-brown top. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Serve the warm spinach artichoke dip with sliced French bread for dipping.
Tips:
- To thaw frozen spinach quickly, place it in a colander and run cold water over it until it’s no longer frozen. Then, use your hands to squeeze out as much excess water as possible.
- For a creamier dip, substitute some of the Parmesan cheese with shredded mozzarella or fontina cheese.
- If you prefer a spicier dip, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the mixture before baking.
- Leftover dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave or in a 350°F oven until warmed through.
