Taco Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 crescent roll sheet
- 1 can of refried beans
- 1 bag of shredded cheese (cheddar or a Mexican blend)
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 packet of McCormick’s taco seasoning
- 2 tablespoons of salsa (Pace Picante or your favorite brand)

Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the ground beef:
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook until it is browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks (about 7-10 minutes).
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Add the packet of taco seasoning and 3/4 cup of water to the browned beef.
- Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Bake the crescent roll sheet:
- Unroll the crescent roll sheet onto a baking sheet, pressing it out evenly to cover the bottom.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-13 minutes, or until it is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
- Prepare the bean mixture:
- In a bowl, combine the refried beans and 2 tablespoons of salsa. Mix well until the beans are smooth and easier to spread.
- Assemble the taco pizza:
- Spread the bean mixture evenly over the cooled crescent roll sheet.
- Distribute the seasoned ground beef evenly over the bean layer.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the top.
- Bake the assembled pizza:
- Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Add your toppings:
- Once the pizza is out of the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes.
- Add your preferred toppings, such as chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced olives, and sliced jalapeños.
- Serve and enjoy:
- Slice the taco pizza into squares or wedges.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the flavors that taste just like the Mexican Pizza from Taco Bell!
Tips:
- Feel free to add other toppings like sour cream, guacamole, or hot sauce for extra flavor.
- If you prefer a spicier taco pizza, use a spicier taco seasoning mix or add some diced jalapeños to the ground beef while cooking.
