Reindeer Donuts
Supplies Needed:
- Mini glazed or chocolate donuts (store-bought or homemade)
- Mini pretzels (for the antlers)
- Red M&Ms, red glaze, frosting, or cherries (for the nose)
- Candy eyes (can be found at most grocery or craft stores)
- Black icing (to help attach the eyes and nose)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Donuts:
- Lay out your glazed or chocolate mini donuts on a flat surface, like a baking sheet or large platter.
- Attach the Antlers:
- Break the mini pretzels in half to form antlers. (Don’t worry if some pieces break unevenly—reindeer can have « wonky » antlers!)
- Stick the pretzel halves into the top of the donut to create the reindeer’s antlers.
- Add the Eyes:
- Dab a little black icing onto the back of the candy eyes. Place the eyes in the center of the donut.
- If you don’t have candy eyes, you can pipe small dots of black icing or melted chocolate for the eyes.
- Create the Nose:
- For Rudolph’s signature red nose, you can use red M&Ms, a dot of red glaze, a small dab of red frosting, or a piece of cherry.
- Use a small amount of icing to help stick the nose in place, just below the eyes on the donut hole.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Once all the reindeer donuts are decorated, they’re ready to serve! These are perfect for a fun holiday party, classroom treat, or a quick snack that kids will love to help make.
Tips for Fun:
- If any reindeer come out with broken antlers, crooked eyes, or a « Squidward nose, » embrace it! Let each reindeer have its own unique personality.
- Make it a family or group activity by having the kids decorate their own reindeer and see who can make the funniest or cutest version.
- You can also switch up the candy colors and shapes to create a whole herd of reindeer with different looks!
This cute little treat idea is not only delicious but a blast for the kids to assemble—especially when they see the quirky reindeer come to life! 🦌🍩
