Ultimate Doritos Nachos Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 bag of Doritos (your choice of flavor)
- 1 pound ground beef or chicken
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup guacamole
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures the oven will be ready when it’s time to melt the cheese on the nachos.
- Cook the Meat:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef or chicken to the skillet and cook, breaking up the meat with a spatula, until it’s browned and fully cooked through (about 6-8 minutes).
- If using beef, drain off any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and follow the package instructions, usually adding a bit of water and simmering for a few minutes until the seasoning is well incorporated.
- Prepare the Baking Sheet:
- While the meat is cooking, line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Spread a generous layer of Doritos across the entire baking sheet, making sure they are evenly distributed.
- Assemble the Nachos:
- Evenly spoon the seasoned meat over the Doritos.
- Sprinkle the rinsed and drained black beans evenly over the meat.
- Top with the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, making sure to cover as many chips as possible.
- Bake the Nachos:
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on them to prevent the chips from burning.
- Add Toppings:
- Once the nachos are done baking, carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven.
- Immediately top the nachos with salsa, dollops of guacamole, and sour cream.
- Scatter the sliced jalapeños, black olives, and chopped cilantro over the top.
- Serve:
- Serve the nachos immediately while they’re still warm. You can place the baking sheet directly on the table and let everyone dig in or transfer the nachos to a large platter.
Tips:
- Feel free to customize your nachos with additional toppings like diced tomatoes, chopped onions, or even a drizzle of hot sauce for extra spice.
- For a vegetarian version, simply omit the meat and add more beans or some roasted vegetables.
Enjoy your ultimate Doritos nachos!
