Ingredients:

  • 1 whole watermelon 🍉
  • 1 whole pineapple 🍍
  • 1 whole honeydew melon 🍈

Supplies:

  • Reusable 16-ounce containers (available on Amazon or at local stores)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Workspace:
    • Clean and sanitize your countertop and cutting boards.
    • Gather a sharp knife, a large spoon, a peeler (if needed), and your reusable containers.
  2. Watermelon:
    • Cut the watermelon in half: Use a large knife to cut through the center of the watermelon.
    • Slice into quarters: Cut each half into two quarters.
    • Remove the rind: Place a quarter flat side down on the cutting board. Carefully slice between the flesh and the rind to remove the rind.
    • Cube the watermelon: Cut the watermelon flesh into bite-sized cubes.
    • Portion into containers: Evenly distribute the cubes into your 16-ounce containers.
  3. Pineapple:
    • Cut off the top and bottom: Lay the pineapple on its side and slice off the top (crown) and bottom.
    • Remove the skin: Stand the pineapple upright and slice down the sides to remove the skin, cutting deep enough to remove the eyes (brown spots).
    • Core the pineapple: Slice the pineapple into quarters lengthwise, then cut out the tough core from each quarter.
    • Cube the pineapple: Cut the quarters into bite-sized pieces.
    • Portion into containers: Evenly distribute the pineapple pieces into your containers.
  4. Honeydew Melon:
    • Cut the honeydew in half: Use a large knife to slice through the middle.
    • Remove the seeds: Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds from each half.
    • Slice into quarters: Cut each half into quarters.
    • Remove the rind: Place a quarter flat side down on the cutting board. Carefully slice between the flesh and the rind to remove the rind.
    • Cube the honeydew: Cut the honeydew flesh into bite-sized cubes.
    • Portion into containers: Evenly distribute the cubes into your containers.
  5. Store and Enjoy:
    • Seal the containers: Ensure each container is tightly sealed to maintain freshness.
    • Refrigerate: Store the containers in the refrigerator. The prepped fruit should stay fresh for about a week.
    • Serve: Grab a container anytime you want a quick and healthy snack. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Stay Safe: Always use a sharp knife for cleaner cuts and to reduce the risk of slipping.
  • Save Time: Consider prepping the fruit right after grocery shopping to have it ready for the week.
  • Mix It Up: You can mix different types of fruit in each container for variety or keep them separate based on preference.

Enjoy your fresh, cost-effective, and delicious fruit all week long! 🤩😊✅
