4-Ingredient No-Bake Peanut Butter Balls
(They taste just like Reese’s Cups!)
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter – Choose a smooth, creamy peanut butter for the best texture.
- 1 cup powdered sugar – This sweetens and helps create the right consistency for the peanut butter filling.
- 3 tbsp softened butter – Softened to room temperature so it mixes well with the peanut butter.
- Milk chocolate melting wafers – These are ideal for dipping, as they melt smoothly and harden well. You can substitute with milk chocolate chips if needed.
Instructions:
- Mix the Peanut Butter Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, softened butter, and powdered sugar.
- Use a spatula or your hands (wearing gloves might help!) to mix everything together until you have a smooth, firm dough. The texture should be slightly sticky but not runny.
- Form the Peanut Butter Balls:
- Once the mixture is well-combined, use your hands to roll it into small, bite-sized balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
- Place the rolled balls onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper (this helps prevent sticking).
- If you find the mixture sticking to your hands, you can lightly grease your hands or dust them with a little powdered sugar.
- Freeze to Firm Up:
- Place the peanut butter balls in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This will help them firm up and make them easier to dip in the chocolate later.
- Prepare the Chocolate Coating:
- While the peanut butter balls are freezing, melt the milk chocolate. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl or in a double boiler on the stove.
- If you’re using chocolate melting wafers, simply follow the package instructions. If you’re using chocolate chips, microwave them in 20-30 second intervals, stirring each time until smooth and fully melted.
- Dip the Peanut Butter Balls:
- After freezing, remove the peanut butter balls from the freezer.
- Insert a toothpick into each ball to make dipping easier.
- Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, making sure it’s fully coated.
- Return each dipped ball to the wax paper-lined sheet.
- Let the Chocolate Set:
- After dipping, place the peanut butter balls back into the freezer or refrigerator for about 20 minutes or until the chocolate coating has fully hardened.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Once the chocolate has set, your peanut butter balls are ready to enjoy! They make a great sweet snack or dessert and taste amazing with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on the side!
Tips:
- If you prefer a thicker chocolate coating, you can dip the balls twice, letting the first coat harden before adding the second.
- For a little extra texture, you can sprinkle a small pinch of sea salt on top of the chocolate coating before it sets.
Enjoy your delicious peanut butter balls – they’re perfect for any occasion, or just as a treat when you’re craving something sweet!
