- 1/2 cup milk (optional for a thinner sauce)
- Roast Beef:
- 1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
- Arby’s Sauce:
- Extra packets of Arby’s sauce (or you can make your own)
Optional Homemade Arby’s Sauce:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cheese Sauce:
- Open the can of condensed cheddar cheese soup and pour it into a small saucepan.
- If you prefer a thinner cheese sauce, add 1/2 cup of milk to the saucepan.
- Heat the cheese sauce over medium heat, stirring frequently until smooth and heated through. Follow the directions on the can for precise cooking times and temperature.
- Warm the Roast Beef:
- While the cheese sauce is heating, place the sliced roast beef in a medium skillet over medium-low heat.
- Add a splash of water or beef broth to the skillet to keep the roast beef moist.
- Cover the skillet and heat the roast beef, stirring occasionally, until warmed through.
- Make the Arby’s Sauce (Optional):
- In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of water, 1/2 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
- Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Assemble the Sandwiches:
- Split the onion poppy seed hamburger buns and lightly toast them if desired.
- Place a generous portion of the warmed roast beef on the bottom half of each bun.
- Drizzle the heated cheddar cheese sauce over the roast beef.
- Add a generous amount of Arby’s sauce on top of the cheese sauce (either from the packets or your homemade version).
- Place the top half of the bun on the sandwich.
- Serve:
- Serve the sandwiches immediately while hot.
- Enjoy your homemade Arby’s-style roast beef sandwiches with your favorite sides, such as curly fries or potato chips.
Tips:
- If you have a slow cooker, you can keep the roast beef warm in it on a low setting while you prepare the other ingredients.
- For an extra touch of flavor, you can lightly butter and toast the buns on a skillet before assembling the sandwiches.
- Feel free to add additional toppings such as pickles, onions, or lettuce if you like extra crunch and flavor in your sandwiches.
Enjoy your homemade Arby’s-style experience!
