Homemade Arby’s-Style Roast Beef Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • Onion Poppy Seed Hamburger Buns:
    • 4 onion poppy seed hamburger buns
  • Condensed Cheddar Cheese Sauce:
    • 1 can of condensed cheddar cheese soup
    • 1/2 cup milk (optional for a thinner sauce)
  • Roast Beef:
    • 1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • Arby’s Sauce:
    • Extra packets of Arby’s sauce (or you can make your own)

Optional Homemade Arby’s Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cheese Sauce:
    1. Open the can of condensed cheddar cheese soup and pour it into a small saucepan.
    2. If you prefer a thinner cheese sauce, add 1/2 cup of milk to the saucepan.
    3. Heat the cheese sauce over medium heat, stirring frequently until smooth and heated through. Follow the directions on the can for precise cooking times and temperature.
  2. Warm the Roast Beef:
    1. While the cheese sauce is heating, place the sliced roast beef in a medium skillet over medium-low heat.
    2. Add a splash of water or beef broth to the skillet to keep the roast beef moist.
    3. Cover the skillet and heat the roast beef, stirring occasionally, until warmed through.
  3. Make the Arby’s Sauce (Optional):
    1. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of water, 1/2 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
    2. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  4. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    1. Split the onion poppy seed hamburger buns and lightly toast them if desired.
    2. Place a generous portion of the warmed roast beef on the bottom half of each bun.
    3. Drizzle the heated cheddar cheese sauce over the roast beef.
    4. Add a generous amount of Arby’s sauce on top of the cheese sauce (either from the packets or your homemade version).
    5. Place the top half of the bun on the sandwich.
  5. Serve:
    1. Serve the sandwiches immediately while hot.
